When the 2014-2015 season starts, College of the Sequoias will have three major pieces of its playoff campaign returning. “One ingredient we have is experience,” said coach Rusty Smith. The Giants will welcome back Brantley Bynum, Chris Smith, and co freshman of the year in the Central Valley Conference Chris Ross. The “6-5” Smith, averaged points and rebounds last season. The Giants will also have high hopes for “6-5” Brantley Bynum. Bynum led Sequoias in scoring ( points) and was 5th in the state in field goal percentage. Sequoias will also return “6-4” point guard Chris Ross who averaged points. Ross was named co freshman of the year and will be a standout. The Giants will also welcome Bakersfield College transfer “5-11” Chad Clark. Sequoias will also welcome in “5-10” Sam Tensley (El Diamante Hs), “6-4” Jordan Bayne (Exeter Hs), “6-3” Derek Check (Centennial Hs), “6-1” Elray Coleman (West Bakersfield Hs), “6-4” Kentrey Bynum (El Diamante Hs), and “6-8” Fatai Eke (East Bakersfield Hs) who will have a major impact for the Giants.
